Sreenath believes that if he appears for enough exams in the future, he would surely land up with a job.
New Delhi, May 8: Sreenath K, a coolie from Kerala cleared the Kerala Public Service Commission written test with just the help of free WiFi Internet service available at Ernakulam station. Reportedly, Sreenath has been working as a coolie at Ernakulam Junction in Kerala for the past five years.
Sreenath, a high school pass-out, would be often seen balancing luggage on his shoulders while also, listening to his digital coursework through the earphones. “I have appeared thrice for the exam and this is the first time I used the WiFi at the station. What I do is put on my earphones and listen to the study material as I carry the luggage or solve questionnaires in my mind. This way I can study while I work. I revise all my work at night when I get free time,” Wion reported Sreenath as telling PTI.
He added, “the free WiFi service at the station opened up opportunities for him he never thought were available in the first place — reams of practice question papers, downloadable at a speed of 20-40 Mbps, easy access to online examination forms, and above everything else, he saves money on books.”
When asked Sreenath about his ideal job, he told the news agency “a person of some authority to change things in my village maybe”. However, he would keep studying and appearing for the exams while continuing to work as a coolie. Sreenath believes that if he appears for enough exams in the future, he would surely land up with a job.
