University of Delhi (DU) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch new skill based programs for under grads. The organisation has jointly established a Skill Development Advisory Committee (SDAC), which consists of members of DU and NSDC, and they will be responsible for implementing the MoU. Also Read - Will Convert All State-Run Madrasas Into a General School: Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma
These programs will be of short durations and will be offered at different colleges affiliated by Delhi University. Another objective of this MoU is to enhance the employment opportunities through systematic training, competency certificates and placement support. The training will be focusing areas such as; Information Technology (IT) and IT-enabled Services (ITeS), Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Healthcare, Tourism and Hospitality, Media Entertainment and Automobile industry.
According to an estimate around 70 per cent of the students through NSDC’s programme will receive a sure placement. These placements will be in form of jobs or other entrepreneurial possibilities in the aforementioned sectors.
NSDC is going to design the training, which will be offered through NSDC’s approved training associates selected by DU and NSDC.
