The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts the civil services examination to recruit candidates for the posts of IAS, IPS, and IFS. The examination is held annually. Every year, thousands of candidates appear for the exam. There are some candidates who clear the exam on their first attempt. IAS officers Tina Dabi and IAS Shakti Dubey are among the most respected women in India’s civil services.
Tina Dabi cracked the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2015, in her first attempt. She topped the exam by securing the All India Rank(AIR) 1. Dabi completed her schooling at Jesus and Mary School in Delhi. Media reports suggest that Tina got an impressive 93% in her Class 12 board exams, including a perfect 100 in both Political Science and History.
Dabi reportedly completed her senior secondary education under the CBSE curriculum. For higher studies, Dabi took admission at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and completed a degree in Political Science.
She got 868 marks in the written exam and 195 in the personality test in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. As per a report by Asianet, Tina Dabi achieved A1 grades in all subjects during her CBSE Class 10 board exams at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in Delhi.
She reportedly scored 95 marks in English. In her Class 12 board exams, she got an impressive 93% overall, including perfect scores of 100 in both Political Science and History. Dabi secured an overall score of 1063 out of 2025 marks in the UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination 2015, translating to a percentage of 52.49%.
Shakti Dubey secured the All India Rank(AIR) 1 in the UPSC civil services(Main) examination 2024. For her optional subject, she chose Political Science & International Relations. Dubey studied a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Allahabad. Later, she went on to pursue an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where she also received a gold medal.
In her fifth attempt, Shakti cracked the UPSC exam. She chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject. She topped the UPSC exam and secured the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the civil services examination.
Shakti Dubey, who topped the Civil Services Examination 2024, obtained a total of 1043 marks. Shakti Dubey scored 843 marks in the UPSC mains exam and 200 marks in the interview. She got 51.5 per cent marks.
