New Delhi, April 11: The Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to postpone the final Charted Accounts (CA) examinations including IPC and intermediate, scheduled to be held on May 11 and 12, because the dates were clashing with those of Karnataka Assembly elections. As per the ICAI notification, the postponed exam will now be held on 18 and 19 May respectively.

The CA examinations will be held in the eight centres located in Belgaum, Bellary, Bengaluru, Hubli, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Shimoga and Udupi in Karnataka. The notification from ICAI reads that the examination schedule will remain same for all the other states.

As per the notification, the venue also would remain the same and the admit cards issued would be valid for the exam on new dates. The notification issued by the Joint Secretary b.Muralidharan says, “It is clarified that the schedule of examinations notified vide Notification No. 13- CA(Exam)/M/2018 dated 8th February 2018 in respect of all other cities shall remain unchanged. In other words, there will be no change in the schedule of examinations for other cities. The candidates are advised to stay in touch with the website of the Institute,”.

Moreover, the IPC and Intermediate examinations (Advanced Accounting) scheduled to be held on May 11, will now be held on May 19. While the final examinations for Group II, Informatics systems control and audit, Business Laws, Business Correspondence and Reporting will be held on May 18 instead of the earlier scheduled date, i.e. May 12.
