IIM Rohtak registers 300 percent jump in registrations as it popularity increases with CAT aspirants

IIM Rohtak IM-R has also registered 300 percent jump in registrations as it popularity increases with CAT aspirants.

IIM Rohtak has registered 300% jump in girl students for current session. Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak has inducted 29 girls in the eighth batch of its post graduate programme in management (PGPM). In a statement IIM Rohtak director Professor Dheeraj Sharma stated that there has been a 300% increase in the number of girl students vis-a-vis last year. The institute has also increased the batch strength to 260 students from 160 last year.  It is noted that there has been a student influx from diverse fields. The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, (abbreviated IIM Rohtak or IIM-R) is a public business school located in Rohtak, Haryana, India. Founded in 2009 as the eighth Indian Institute of Management, it is the first IIM in North India and the only IIM in National Capital Region. IIM Rothak which will offer post graduate diploma, fellowship and executive programmes in management. The institute has taken many entrepreneurial and social initiatives since its inception.

As per the earlier statistics available, the institute had only three girls against 45 boys in its inaugural batch (2010-12). There were nine girls against 115 boys in the next batch. In 2013-15 batch, the gender ratio of students in IIM Rohtak was almost 1:1 with 79 boys and 73 girl At the IIMs 2016-18 batch around 649 women were part of the 2016-18 batch at the top six Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode and Indore — an almost 19% drop from the 2013 high when close to 800 women were admitted in these institutes. It has to be noted that the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Rohtak (IIM-R) will also offer a judicious blend of theory and practice. The PGP programme is designed to be change-oriented. It has to be noted that the course curriculum will be continually reviewed. Neeraj Dwivedi, admissions chairperson at IIM Lucknow, adding that the admission procedure hasn’t changed, it will be very difficult to say why there has been a drop. They will need to have to dig deeper into their applicant pool.
