IIT-Madras websites hacked, Posted ProPakistan Message

Chennai, Dec 30: The various websites of Indian Institute of Technology Madras were hacked on Wednesday by suspicious people. These websites have now been brought down to find out the main problem. It has also been said that website included many announcements on conferences, which are to be organised by the institute. The websites of five centre of excellence, centre of excellence, and sex department were hacked.

The good part is that the premier institute’s main website of IIT Madras and other departments’ websites were not being hacked by the hackers. But, one of the important server containing information like registrations and conference schedules was hacked. As per Director of IIT Madras,  Bhaskar Ramamurthi, IIT has to allow outsiders to provide inputs like conference registration in few sites of this server. He also said that someone had grasped the weakness and succeed in hacking. Our department should recognise the main reason of hacking and try to resolve it asap.

The websites were hosted by the two individual servers. The main website was hosted by one and other sites hosted through the separate server in which outside people cannot input anything and it is much more secure. He added that the some particular websites have been brought down and our technical team can restore the same now. But, they are trying to sort out he exact reason and how websites get affected.
