The JEE-Advanced 2016 results have been declared today at 10 a.m. and out of the 1.5 lakh-odd candidates who had appeared for the exam, only 36,566 students have qualified for admissions into the country’s leading IITs.The candidates who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2016 and wish to opt for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree at IIT Kharagpur or IIT Roorkee, can now register for the aptitude test. To register, students should visit the candidate profile portal on JEE Advanced official website. Once the candidates logs in, a banner will pop-up stating if he/she is eligible to register for the programme. The last date for registrations for the five-year B Arch programme is on or before June 13, 2016 within 5 pm. Those who wants to take admissions in B.Arch, will have to take another test. It will be conducted on June 15, 2016, at the zonal IITs only.

This time, the JEE Advanced Exam was organised by IIT Guwahati. While the results were declared a little before 10 am, the JEE Advanced website was functioning slow and results occasionally not accessible because of traffic overload. The JEE-Advanced 2016 was conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 and 2 both comprised of 54 questions each — 18 from each subject — and were worth 186 marks. Each subject carried 124 marks, and the total marks the exam was 372.

This time with four new IITs – at Chaatisgarh, Jammu, Karnataka and Goa — scheduled to begin operations from the 2016-17 session, there are 10,575 seats across 23 IITs (including ISM, Dhanbad), around 569 more than last year.
