The Joint Entrance Examination will be conducted by the CBSE board on April 2, 2017. The application process for JEE Main 2017 has been started from December 1, 2016 and the application process will end on January 2, 2017. So during the application process candidates many of the candidates have uploaded the photograph. According to an official notification released on the website of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 website, the facility has been made available to students online from December 10, 2016. Documents that are very important for the application process are a valid email ID and a contact number. Then all the certificates of the qualifying examination scanned images of photograph, thumb impression, and signature. And a password to login for the registration process. For paying fee, one can use debit or credit card, bank e-challan. The photograph scan of the candidate needs to be in a 3.5 x 4.5 cm picture size and should be between 4KB and 100KB in file size. The signature scan should be 3.5 x 1.5 cm size and 1 KB to 30 KB file size. Both the files have to be in JPEG format. Steps to make changes in the JEE Main 2017 exam application form:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main 2017 i.e. jeemain.nic.in
  • On the “Current Events” column, click on the notification titled “Remove Discrepancy in Uploaded Image(s)”
  • It will take you to another page.
  • Then enter your application number and password
  • Then click on “Login”
  • Read all important instructions and then make changes and/or edit your picture or signature scan.
  • After editing do save your application.

Until this year, candidates had to upload a scan of their thumb impression as well while applying for the exam but the practise has been discontinued this year.

This will be the fifth JEE which is going to be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc.

The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad. The candidates who want more information related to JEE Advanced 2017 should visit the official website of JEE Advanced. Though, the eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) & JEE (Advanced) are different. So, interested candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced).
