JEE Main 2025 Exam Calendar: Check Number of Attempts, Registration Dates Update

JEE Main 2024 Session 2 paper analysis: The National Testing Agency(NTA) will commence the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 examination from today, April 4, 2024. A total of 12.57 Lakh candidates have registered for the competitive examination. The surprise visits by flying squads to oversee the examination, deployment of full time Observers, utilization of AI tools to identify discrepancies in candidates’ application details, matching of their biometrics and particulars remotely through AI and also by a physical thorough invigilation supervision, have been made to be put in place. JEE Main 2024 Paper-Wise Exam Timing

JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech) will be conducted on 04, 05, 06, 08 and 09 April 2024. Shift 1 will commence from 09:00 AM to 12:00 noon and Shift 2 will commence from 03:00 PM. to 06:00 PM. Paper 2A (B. Arch), Paper 2B (B. Planning) and Paper 2A & 2B (B. Arch & B. Planning both) will be conducted from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM on April 12.

JEE Main 2024 Session 2: Advisory and Important Instructions for Students

1. The candidates are advised to bring their AADHAAR card for seamless registration at the Examination Centre.
2. On the day of the Examination, please reach the venue of the Test at the Reporting Time mentioned in the Admit Card. If a candidate reports beyond the Gate Closing time of the Centre, he/she will not be allowed to enter the Test venue. Instructions have been issued for strict compliance. Several pre-examination formalities need to be completed and therefore please arrive on time.
3. The candidate should ensure that the Question Paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject/medium of the Question Paper is other than his/her opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned.
4. Students should download the Admit Card from the NTA Website and bring to the exam centre (a clear, preferably colour printout on A4 size paper).
5. If a candidate goes for bio-break /toilet, he/she should undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again.
6. Candidates must bring One Passport size photograph (the same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.
7. For the Drawing Test—Part III of B.Arch., the candidate must bring their own Geometry Box Set, Pencils, Erasers, and Colour Pencils or Crayons. The Candidates are not allowed to use watercolours on Drawing Sheet.
8. Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room There may not be any provision for safe keeping of valuables at the Centre.
9. Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges) and transparent water bottles to the Examination Hall/Room. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches, etc.
10. Apart from the biometric attendance and frisking at entry, candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on entry from bio-break/toilets break.
11. The candidate should ensure that the Question Paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject/medium of the Question Paper is other than his/her opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned

JEE Main 2024 Paper Analysis

Paper-1 Analysis:

With Shift 1 of JEE Session 2 exam concluding, it has come out that the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. Where Physics and Mathematics were a bit lengthy and difficult, Chemistry easy as compared to the other two subjects. Comparing the three sections, Mathematics was the toughest of all.

– Physics was moderate and a bit lengthy, with more questions from class 11. Apart from this, there were questions about electromagnetism, kinematics and modern physics.

– The Mathematics section was lengthy and significantly more difficult than the January examination. It suggests that students seeking optimal performance would benefit from prioritizing 3D, Statistics, and Vector areas.

– In Chemistry, the paper was easy. Organic chemistry was heavily weighted, and questions from thermodynamics, physical chemistry, and metallurgy were included in the exam. Revising the periodic table, integer-type questions, Thermochemistry, and Kinetics before the exam is also advisable.

“With JEE Main Shift 1 of Session 2 concluding, I would suggest that candidates revise the formulas and reactions as much as possible. Considering that Maths was the toughest followed by Physics and Chemistry, students remaining to appear for the exam should strategize accordingly. In Chemistry they should focus on Organic Chemistry along with Physical Chemistry and Metallurgy. Moving forward, in Physics students should be thorough with formulas and derivation to easily attempt the complicated questions. They should prioritize Electromagnetism, Modern Physics and Kinematics. With Mathematics being the most lengthy section, revising 3D, Vector, Statics Integral Calculus, Coordinate Chemistry will help a lot in acing the exam,” Nitin Viijay, Founder & CEO of Motion Education said.
