New Delhi, Mar 18: Students were caught on camera cheating and copying answers from each other during undergraduate examination which was conducted in affiliated colleges of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra.
A video has gone viral in which first year students of Bachelor of Science (BSc) can be seen indulging in mass copying in Mathematics paper on Saturday. There were some students who exchanged chits also during the examination.
When asked about the incident, Vice Chancellor of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Arvind Kumar Dixit, said that an information about mass copying was received and a flying squad team has been sent there. 16 students were arrested and have been rusticated.
According to media reports, the cheating mafia was charging Rs 3000-4000 per student for each paper for organizing “copying” and those who paid were provided cheating material in separate room.
Over 1000 colleges of eight districts are affiliated with BR Ambedkar University. The Uttar Pradesh government have made elaborate arrangements to prevent cheating and maintain transparency in the ensuing Uttar Pradesh board examinations.
But in some areas, cheating goes unabated and students usually indulge in these activities. The state government also installed CCTV cameras at all examination centres. In Uttar Pradesh, Bihar such impudent practice at the examinations have always hit the headlines.
