Abhishek Kumar, a computer engineer from Jamu Khariya village in Bihar’s Jamui district, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a job at Google’s London office with an annual salary of Rs. 2 crore. His success is a shining example for aspiring engineers from small towns in India. Born into a middle-class family, Abhishek’s father, Indradev Yadav, is a lawyer at the Jamui Civil Court, and his mother, Manju Devi, is a homemaker. He completed his schooling in Jhajha and later graduated in software engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna.
Before joining Google, Abhishek worked at Amazon, where he earned Rs. 1.08 crore annually. In March 2023, he successfully cleared Google’s interviews and secured this prestigious opportunity. “This is my biggest achievement, and I’m extremely excited,” Abhishek shared in an interview with NDTV. “Working at Google has always been a dream for many software engineers, and I’m thrilled to work on impactful projects.”
Abhishek expressed his gratitude for his family’s constant support, saying that working at Google has always been his dream. He credited his success to consistent practice, particularly in coding and behavioral interview preparation, which he balanced alongside his job. Reflecting on his journey, he shared that his village upbringing motivated him to aim for a better quality of life for his family.
“My parents have always been my greatest support,” he said, expressing his deep gratitude for their encouragement throughout his journey. His elder brother also played a significant role in motivating him.
His mother, Manju Devi, expressed immense pride in her son’s achievements: “I am incredibly proud of my son. He has accomplished what many only dream of.” His father, Indradev Yadav, echoed this sentiment: “I have always encouraged my son to stay focused and work hard, and today, his dedication has truly paid off.” Abhishek Kumar’s story is not just about individual triumph but also serves as a powerful source of motivation for others facing similar challenges.
He encouraged students from small towns to believe in themselves, emphasizing that hard work and dedication can lead to extraordinary achievements.
