It is truly said that success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. And the success story of 22-year-old Darshan Kumar from a small town in Jehanabad is proof. Read his success story here.
Darshan cracked the IIT entrance exam and secured admission at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. As per the News18 Hindi report, even before the placement season began in his final year, Darshan received a lucrative job offer from Amazon in Gurugram with a package of Rs 46 lakh per annum. This achievement has brought immense pride and joy to his family. Darshan, an Aerospace Engineering student, chose Computer Science as a minor, which led to his selection for the role of Software Engineer Developer at Amazon.
“Received a pre-placement offer and LoR for end-to-end development of auto case creation & hold/release functionality to handle duplicate invoices,” reads his LinkedIn experience bio.
Darshan completed an internship with a prestigious company like Amazon, where he worked for reportedly two months. Impressed by his skills and performance, Amazon offered him a job with an impressive package of Rs 46 lakh per annum, reported News18 Hindi. Originally from the small town of Tehta Bazaar in Jehanabad, Darshan credits his success to his parents, who have been his constant source of support and inspiration. Darshan is just 22 years old.
His father, Rajeev Kumar, is well-known in the district for his contributions to art but primarily runs a general store. His mother, apart from managing household responsibilities, is actively involved in handicrafts.
While speaking to Local 18, Darshan revealed that he has always had a passion for learning. His educational journey began at Gyan Deep School, and though he initially struggled with English, his skills improved over time. He continued his studies at PP Public School for 10 years, which helped him gain better proficiency in English. Throughout his academic journey, he received strong support from his parents and never felt deprived of anything. After completing his Class 12th, he moved to Delhi to pursue further education at a private institution. However, his first attempt at the IIT JEE Mains exam was disappointing, as his performance in the paper was not up to the mark.
Darshan shared that after his initial setback, he put in more effort and retook the JEE Mains, where he performed significantly better. This success boosted his confidence and motivated him to take the JEE Advanced, where he scored well again. His hard work paid off when he secured admission to IIT Bombay, marking the beginning of his engineering journey. Now, he has landed a promising job. Throughout this entire journey, his parents have been his constant support, allowing him to fully explore his potential. Looking ahead, Darshan plans to work for the next 2 to 3 years before pursuing his dream of starting a business.
