The exam is considered the most difficult in India. People devote years of their lives and struggle with tight schedules to qualify for the exam. In the UPSC success stories, Kamyaa Misra is a name that shines. Misra became an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer at the young age of 22 in her first attempt.

Who is Kamyaa Misra?

Kamyaa hails from Odisha’s Rairangpur district and was a regional topper and scored 98.6 per cent in Class 12. Later, the bright student completed her graduation from Lady Shriram College, Delhi University. She always had the spark to clear the UPSC exam, for which she studied from her graduation. As a result, she cleared the most difficult exam in the year 2019 at the age of 22. She became the All India Rank (AIR) 172 holder. She started her civil service career in the Himachal cadre.

Who is Kamyaa Misra’s husband, Awadesh Saroj?

Kamyaa met her husband, Awadesh Saroj, during the time of her training. The couple tied a knot in Rajasthan’s Udaipur in the year 2021. They’re both 2019 batch IPS officers. Saroj completed his engineering degree in aerospace from IIT Mumbai in 2015. After teaching as a JEE teacher, he decided to move to Delhi for UPSC preparation. He cleared the exam in 2019 and received the opportunity to serve the Bihar cadre.

Why did Kamyaa Misra resign?

Kamyaa Misra resigned at the age of 28 due to some personal reasons, as per reports. Before resigning, Kamyaa served as the Superintendent of Police in Darbhanga, Bihar. The decision of resignation was consciously made by her to help her family navigate their business.
