After working as an engineer for decades, Murugaiyan decided to pursue his real dream and started preparing for the NEET examination, but there was a twist – he decided to appear for the NEET examination with his teenage daughter.

Every night, after a long day at work, Murugaiyan would join his teenage daughter in studying. He deeply appreciated the immense support from his wife, who helped him juggle his intense career with his studies.

Father-daughter duo clears NEET Exam

In an inspiring father-daughter duo, both Lieutenant Colonel R Murugaiyan and his daughter set out to conquer the 2021 NEET Examination. Not only did they pass, but they also secured noteworthy ranks. Following this major accomplishment, Murugaiyan made the bold decision to step down from his high paying job.

After clearing the exam, Murugaiyan secured admission in Srilalithambika Medical College, Chennai, while his daughter Sheetal secured admission in Vinayaka Mission Medical College, Pondicherry, for MBBS courses.

For the unversed, the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is the qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programmes in Indian medical and dental colleges. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
