When they could not afford coaching, Pradeep’s family sold their house to help ensure he had good schooling. Financial issues were commonplace, and life has had lots of ups and downs, but Pradeep has never stopped studying.

What struggles did his family face during his UPSC journey?

Pradeep Singh reportedly hailed from Indore. A few years later, his father went to Haryana. His father, Sukhbir Singh, worked at a petrol pump to support the family, as reported by NavBharat Times. Pradeep completed his schooling in Haryana.

What rank did he secure when he cleared UPSC twice?

He went to Kurukshetra University and completed his B.Com (Honours) program for college. After completing his B.Com, he worked for a brief period as an Inspector in the Income Tax Department. However, Pradeep’s true aspiration is to be an IAS officer. He worked determinedly to achieve his goal and quit his job to start UPSC exam preparation.

In his first attempt, Pradeep secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 93. However, he could not get the IAS post, so he decided to try again. In 2019, he topped the UPSC exam with AIR 26 and finally became an officer.

According to Pradeep, the situation at home was so bad at the time that his father even sold their house to pay for his UPSC coaching. He never once hesitated and never held back; he always persuaded Pradeep to keep progressing. His father stood by Pradeep at every step to keep his dream of becoming an officer alive. His father’s sacrifices and hard work became Pradeep’s biggest motivation.
