Dreams come true when pursued with dedication and hard work. This has been proven by Pari Bishnoi, a young woman from the Bishnoi community, who cleared one of India’s toughest exams—the UPSC Civil Services Examination—and achieved her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
Pari hails from Bikaner, Rajasthan, and her journey to success is nothing short of inspiring. She is the first woman from the Bishnoi community to become an IAS officer, breaking barriers along the way. Currently, she serves as the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Sikkim.
When asked about the motivation behind her decision to pursue the civil services, Pari credits her mother. Her mother, a police officer in Rajasthan, became her role model. Watching her mother’s dedication to duty inspired Pari to serve the nation through the civil services.
She completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School in Ajmer and later pursued her graduation from Indraprastha College, Delhi University. Further, she earned a postgraduate degree in Political Science from MDS University, Ajmer. During her academic years, Pari firmly set her sights on becoming an IAS officer.
Her unwavering determination to clear the UPSC exam led her to adopt an intense and disciplined preparation routine. We all know how challenging it is to even consider cracking UPSC, but she not only dreamt of it but also made immense sacrifices to achieve her goal. Throughout her preparation, she lived a highly disciplined, almost monk-like lifestyle.
Her mother revealed to the media that Pari completely deleted all her social media accounts and even chose to stay away from her mobile phone.
Her focus paid off in 2019 when, at the age of 23, she cleared the UPSC exam in her third attempt, securing an impressive All India Rank of 30.
After clearing the UPSC exam, Pari Bishnoi began her career as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas. She then served as a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Gangtok, Sikkim. Currently, she holds the position of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Sikkim.
Recently, Pari made headlines for her wedding. She tied the knot with Bhavya Bishnoi, the youngest MLA from Adampur, Haryana. Bhavya comes from a prominent political family—he is the son of BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi and the grandson of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal. Many consider Bhavya a rising star in Indian politics.
