NBSE Class 11th and 12th Examinations 2017 commenced on February 14. Approximately 30,000 students appeared for Class 11th and 12th examinations conducted by the Nagaland Board of Secondary Education (NBSE). In the year 2017, 32,744 students, (25,015 in Arts stream, 2,496 in Commerce stream and 5233 in Science stream) are appearing for the exams. The examinations will conclude on March 6. NBSE Class 10th exam has begun today, i.e. February 15. Asa Seyie, the vice president of Western Angami Youth Organisation said that the measures have been taken so that teachers as well as students do not face any harassment from Naga tribal volunteers due to bandh. Normal life was affected in the state due to the bandh imposed by NTAC Kohima and JCC. Government organizations, banks and markets remained closed. It has been clarified by the JCC organisations that the current movement should not be mixed up with any political agenda and that their demand is not negotiable. The demand of NTAC pertaining to the declaring of the process of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election with the reservation of 33% per cent for women as null and void has been fulfilled by the Government of Nagaland. However, the second demand pertaining to the suspension of the police personnel involved in January 31 police firing on the protesters that lead to the killing of two persons has been partially accepted.
