Jun. 7, 2017: If reports are to be believed, CBSE is all set to release the Answer Keys for NEET 2017 Exam as soon as tomorrow. Sources have confirmed that the delay in the results due to Madras HC order is the reason why CBSE has not released the NEET 2017 Answer Keys and OMR sheets as yet. Understanding the anxiety caused to the 11, 38, 890 candidates who are eagerly waiting for the NEET 2017 Answer Keys and Results, CBSE has even requested the Madras HC to let it release the results. Sources have suggested that if the request if accepted in the hearing at the Madras HC today, CBSE can release the NEET 2017 Answer Keys as soon as tomorrow. NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2017 has been surrounded by controversies ever since it was announced on January 30, 2017. From the limitation on attempt to the upper age limit, there was delay from the very onset o the examination. The examination was finally conducted across the country in 10 languages including 8 regional languages, Hindi and English. The controversies however grew when experts noticed discrepancies in the level of difficulty between regional question papers and English question papers. Various State Governments wrote to CBSE and even urged HRD Ministry to intervene. Separate petitioned were also filed. Following the same, Madras HC had granted an interim stay on the declaration of CBSE NEET 2017 results till June 7, 2017. The resultant effect of the stay has been a delay in the processing of the NEET Results. The CBSE NEET 2017 Answer Keys are already long overdue. Earlier schedule set by authorities had pegged the release of the answer sheets and OMR Sheets by May 20. However, the controversies and the court cases has made that almost impossible for CBSE. Sources have shared that the top officials at CBSE are willing to continue with the contention and find the solution. CBSE has raised concerns over holding the results of over 11 lakh students due to ongoing cases. As per official statistics available, of the 11.38 lakh students who wrote the NEET 2017 examination on May 7, only 47, 853 have opted for exam in Gujarati, another 34,417 chose Bengali. The number of students who wrote the paper in Tamil was about 15,206. As for other regional languages, 3,810 have written the paper in Assamese, 1766 in Telugu, only about 978 in Marathi, 712 in Kannada and 452 in Oriya. Sources have suggested that if CBSE was to be given the go ahead to release the results, it is ready and equipped to release the NEET 2017 Answer Keys as soon as tomorrow.
