On September 4, the Supreme Court had rejected a review plea filed by six-opposition ruled states against the Court’s August 17 ruling which upheld the National Testing Agency (NTA)’s decision to hold NEET, JEE exams in September. The review plea was filed by ministers from West Bengal (Moloy Ghatak), Jharkhand (Rameshwar Oraon), Rajasthan (Raghu Sharma), Chhattisgarh (Amarjeet Bhagat), Punjab (B S Sidhu) and Maharashtra (Uday Ravindra Sawant) through advocate Sunil Fernandes.

The NTA successfully wrapped up JEE exams with all precautions for safety of the students on September 6. Some of these steps included increasing the number of examination centres, alternate seating plans, fewer candidates per room and staggered entry and exit.

The testing agency is now gearing up for NEET 2020.
