NEET 2020: The National Testing Agency will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET 2020 in online mode through the computer, stated reports. No official notification has been issued to confirm the move. The decision was reportedly taken after the UGC NET 2018 was successfully conducted.
The NTA had earlier planned to conduct NEET 2019 based on computer mode. However, the decision was dropped to continue conducting the exam with the traditional pen and paper mode. The UGC NET is expected to change the NEET 2020 exam mode.
The date of release of the application form for NEET 2020 is expected to come by November 2019. Interested candidates are required to fill in the application form through the available online mode. After submitting all the details, candidates need to log in using their application number and password. Further details have to be filled in to proceed with the payment of the application fee.
Candidates applying for the NEET 2020 must be 17 years old at the time of the admission. There is no upper age limit to take up the exam, provided that the aspirants have cleared their class 10 and class 12 equivalent examination. The aspirants are required to have cleared all the individual subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English. They must clear the qualifying exam by securing a minimum of 50 per cent. There is no cap to the number of attempts to write the exam. NEET UG provides admissions to over 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India.
The NEET is conducted for admission to the undergraduate (UG) courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BNYS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS. After the exam results are announced, a merit-list will be prepared by the NTA. Candidates will get admitted into various medical colleges under the Dental Council of India (DCI), Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) and Medical Council of India (MCI) based on their merits.
