NEET PG 2025 exam: The Supreme Court will be hearing the pleas of doctors and the aspirants of NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Post Graduate) 2025 on September 12, i.e., Wednesday.
It has come after the candidates challenged the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for a new mechanism in the answer key.
Several petitions were filed throughout the country demanding increased transparency.
What are the pleas about?
Students who will appear for the NEET PG 2025 filed multiple petitions demanding greater transparency from the NBEMS. A plea by the United Doctors Front (UDF) had contradicted the decision of NBE to conduct the exam in two shifts and use a normalisation formula.
Several students are voicing their concerns about the transparency issue.
“It frustrates the very object of publishing answer keys, which is to help candidates cross-check their answers and raise objections”, read another petition.
When will the court hear candidates’ pleas?
The Supreme Court will hear the petitions of candidates on September 12.
Satyam Singh Rajpoot, the advocate who’s representing a petitioner, said that all the cases about NEET PG will be heard by the Supreme Court altogether.
Previously, the apex court directed the board to release raw scores, answer keys, and the normalisation formula on April 29. However, the students are allegedly claiming that the board has turned away from that order.
What’s the expected date of counseling for NEET-PG 2025?
The schedule of counseling for 50% All-India Quota (AIQ) will be released by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) soon. On the other hand, if the apex court asks the NBEMS to release proper answer keys, the process of counseling
