NEET Result 2018: The results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 were declared on Monday and K.Keerthana topped the medical entrance examination from Tamil Nadu. The Chennai girl secured All India Rank (AIR) 12 by scoring 676 marks out of 720. K. Keerthana secured one of the top ranks with a 99.998976 percentile. While Keerthana secured an overall AIR 12, she stood third among all the female candidates. An aspiring doctor, K.Keerthana said, “At school, I read the CBSE curriculum. I studied at a training centre for the NEET Examination from Class 11. The biology lessons are the most important. Meanwhile, Kalpana Kumari of Bihar scored 691 marks out of 720 and stood first in the All India Rank list. She is followed by Rogan Purohit of Telangana who secured 690 marks.
Out of the 11, 4602 Tamil Nadu candidates who appeared for the NEET 2018, 45,336 candidates have cleared the exam. The NEET 2018 was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 6. The results of NEET 2018 were announced by CBSE on June 4, on the official website- cbseneet.nic.in on Monday at 12:20 pm. The Department of Health and Family Welfare will prepare the 2018 Rank List for Tamil Nadu and students are expected to appear for an online counselling. Only students who get through the merit list are eligible for the counselling. This year, only 39.55 per cent Tamil Nadu students passed the NEET 2018 exam. The medical entrance examination took place in 136 cities and the exam was conducted in 11 languages. At least 5,660 seats are available in the 45 medical colleges of Tamil Nadu while the counselling will be conducted for 6,400 medical seats. NEET is conducted for entrance into medical and dental colleges approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Dental Council of India (DCI).
