NEET UG 2024 Paper Leaked…NTA Issues Statement
There were tense moments as the reports of “paper leak” started going viral on social media.
NEET UG 2024: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 Exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday from 2 pm to 5:20 pm in 557 cities across India and 14 cities out of India.
Meanwhile, there were tense moments as the reports of “paper leak” started going viral on social media.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has vehemently rebutted the reports of a paper leak.
However, at an examination centre in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, the students from the Hindi medium complained that they were given English medium question papers.
The NTA acknowledged this error of the distribution of the wrong question paper.
“Where the instances of ‘paper leak’ being claimed are completely false and it is being done just to sensationalise the news. In an isolated incident at Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Mantown, Sawai Madhopur, Hindi-medium students were given English medium question paper by mistake and by the time the invigilator was correcting the mistake, students forcefully walked out of the exam hall with the question paper.
“As per the rules students are only allowed to exit the hall with the question paper after the exam, but some students walked out forcefully. Due to this, the question paper was circulated on the internet around 4 pm, but by that time the exam had already started at all other centres across the country. So, there has not been any ‘leak’ of the NEET UG question paper,” a senior NTA official told indianexpress.com.
This year, 23 lakh candidates, including 10 lakh male students, 13 lakh female students, and 24 students under the ‘third gender’ category registered for NEET UG.
Uttar Pradesh reported the highest number of candidates followed by Maharashtra, and Rajasthan.
The candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2024 Exam were also briefed about the items that were not allowed to carry inside the examination hall.
