New Delhi, July 21: Senior IAS officer Deepak Upreti has been appointed new chairman of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Saturday. Upreti, the 1986-batch IAS officer was a transport commissioner. He had also served as principal secretary in mines and petroleum department, cooperative department and medical and health department. He had been divisional commissioner of Ajmer and commissioner in commercial sales taxes department. A few days back Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) grabbed headlines after it added Bhagavad Gita as part of its revised syllabus under a different unit called Niti Shastra for the RAS 2018 examination.  The RPSC  has said that a sub-head reading the title ‘Role of Bhagavad Gita in management and administration’ has been included so that aspirants understand the relevance of the administrative and management teachings that are given in the book. A junior administrative officer at RPSC said that at least 18 chapters have been added which talks about the conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna before the Kurukshetra battle.
