Sainik School Admissions 2026: Registrations begin for Classes 6 and 9, apply by THIS date

Sainik School Registration 2026: The registrations for the Sainik Schools and new Sainik Schools have started by the Sainik School Society (SSC) nationwide. The last date to apply for the admissions is October 30, until 5 pm. The All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) will be held in January 2026 in English medium for Class 9 and in 13 varied mediums for Class 6. How to apply for the entrance exam?

Candidates can register for the entrance examination by following the few simple steps mentioned below.

1. Visit the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society
2. Click on “Registration For AISSEE-2026 Examination” from the homepage
3. Click on “New Registration or “Log in”
4. Fill in the application form
5. Pay the application fee

What’s the application fee?

The application fee for the students belonging to the General, Backward Classes (OBC), Defence, and Ex-Servicemen is Rs. 850, and for those belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and the Scheduled Tribe (ST) is Rs. 700.

What’s the format of exam?

The All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 will have a multiple-choice question (MCQ) based exam in pen and paper mode. The section of language will comprise 25 questions and 50 marks, mathematics will comprise 50 questions and 150 marks, and Intelligence will comprise 25 questions and 50 marks for Class 6. 

The entrance exam of Class 6 will be of 150 minutes and of 180 marks for Class 9. The results for the examination are most likely to be out in February 2026.
