New Delhi, Aug 23: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Wednesday said that criminal cases have been registered against three candidates for indulging in malpractices in the Combine Graduate Level Tier 1 examination. Two candidates have been booked for impersonation and one for cheating. It also clarified that the paper leak reports of the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam were false.

However, the commission had earlier informed that no untoward incident had taken place during the examination. The commission said that strict action will be taken against those three candidates who indulged in malpractices. “Strict action would be taken against the three candidates as per the Rules of the Commission,” the notification said. A total of 30,26,599 candidates had registered for the Combine Graduate Level Tier 1 examination, which was held between August 5 and Aug 23, 2017. Till August 21, the commission had conducted exam for 37 out of 43 batches for 14,02,331 out of 26,63,073 registered candidates. An average of 52.66 per cent candidates had appeared for the Tier 1 exam.

CGL Tier-1 exam, an online computer based exam, was conducted for by the Staff Selection Commission. After the exam, he commission will conduct CGL Tier II, CGL Tier III to select candidates. The SSC had declared the CGL 2016 final results on August 4 this year.
