Staff Selection Commission, SSC, has issued an official notice yesterday, warning candidates about the prevalence of fake appointment letters. The notice released on the official website yesterday evening clearly states that unscrupulous elements are sending out fake appointment letters. It further cautioned that most of the fake appointment letters are for the posts of Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces. It is important to note that SSC had only recently declared the results for Constables (GD) Exam 2016. More than 57,000 candidates have cleared the examinations. SSC has issued an official notice, asking candidates to beware of such fake appointment letters.

SSC was alerted when candidates started to enquire about these letters. The letters, samples of which are available on the official website, appear to be sent out by the SSC. These letters congratulate the candidates about their selection. Further, the letters talk about conducting an official enquiry at the candidates’ residence, pending which a formal appointment letter would be issued.

SSC has requested candidates to be wary of such fake letters. Candidates can either reach out to Regional Offices of the Commission or the CAPFs to verify the authenticity of the letters. Link of one such fake letter is also provided here. Candidates are urged again to check their results carefully on the official links provided above. It is also further recommended for candidates to keep themselves apprised of the recruitment process as shared by the commission. These notices are available on the official website and detail the entire process, including the provision of enquiry or any fee. In order to check the old notices, candidates can simply log on to the official website of ssc.nic.in. Once on the website, at the top, candidates would find the tabs. Click on Notice tab and select the exam you are searching for.
