Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a Class 12 student of a government junior college in Yellareddyguda died of cardiac arrest while taking his annual examination in Secunderabad on Saturday. He was identified as Gopi Raju.
The 16-year-old student collapsed at the examination centre at Sri Chaitanya College in Secunderabad. If reports are to be believed, the student died before he could be shifted to a hospital.
The incident comes days after a 16-year-old girl attempted suicide by jumping off her college building in Telangana’s Warangal district. The girl, identified as Polasani Raksha Rao was caught red handed by the invigilator while she was copying from a slip.
The invigilator seized her answer sheet asked her to leave the examination hall immediately. Unable to bear the humiliation, the girl jumped off the second floor of the college building. She was immediately rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial government hospital by the college staff. Her condition is said to be critical.
The examinations for Intermediate (Class XI and XII) began in Telangana on Wednesday. Over 9.63 lakh students are appearing for Intermediate (Class 11, 12) Public Examinations across across 1,277 centres in Telangana.
