Chandigarh, Apr 10: A student of the University Business School (UBS) received a lucrative offer for two-month internship a private tech company. The student is offered whopping Rs 1,20,000 as a stipend for a summer internship. Earlier, the students of UBS would go for summer internships without stipend.
Among students, Anjali Nayyar has been offered the highest stipend of Rs 60,000 per month by IBM Bangalore. The average stipend offered to UBS students this year rocketed as high as Rs 28,000 for two months. The varsity recorded 100 per cent summer internships placements for the 2017-19 batch.
38 companies visited the UBS for the summer internship placements, for which 111 students were eligible. “It is a surreal feeling to be one of the six interns selected by IBM for internship. This will definitely give us a boost to better our performance during the final year placements,” Negi, who is pursuing an MBA in HR, was quoted as saying.
A total 43 per cent placements were recorded in banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector. 15 per cent students were placed for their summer internships in FMCG sector. This was followed by IT and consultancy and healthcare and hospitality sectors in which 10 per cent students were placed, reported a newspaper.
