New Delhi, April 10: The UP Board is planning to provide coded answer sheets for high school and Intermediate examinations in all 75 districts for 2019-20 exams to prevent cheating and to avoid copying mafia. However, the board had provided coded answer sheets to only 50 districts in 2018-19 exams. This year the board had successfully conducted its high school and Intermediate examinations under CCTV vigil to ensure copying free exams. It was an achievement, and this will continue in future.
According to HT reports, the secretary of UP Board, Neena Srivastava said, “In view of the success of anti-copying measures in the recently held examinations which led to 11,27,815 examinees quit exams, the board would further work towards strengthening its examination procedure to weed out such elements.”
She also said that they are currently busy in preparing results of high school and intermediate examinations. And despite the delay in completion of the evaluation of answer sheets they will try their best to declare the results by the last week of April. After that, they will work on making the examination procedures more transparent and strict.
The UP-Board exams commenced on February 6. As per as the reports, a total of 66.4 lakh students had registered for UP board examinations including 29.8 lakh for Intermediate and 36.6 lakh for High School.
During exams around 1146 examinees were caught using unfair means. And after completion of examinations on March 12, 2018, the final count of examinees reached to 11,27,815 who left examinations due to strict anti-copying measures. Therefore, during the examination period around 136 FIRs were lodged against examinees for including in the use of unfair means besides invigilators and centre superintendents for promoting copying, as per as reports.
