Agra, May 20: Students of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University resorted the Almighty’s help in their university examinations this year. Students wrote exam papers which carried Hanuman Chalisa, bhajans and aartis in response to the questions asked in the paper. Taking a cue from the stringency taken in board examinations, the Uttar Pradesh government was strict during the university exams as well.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University’s main exams for the academic session 2017-18 was held some time back and this incident came to light during the evaluation of answer sheets. Reportedly, some students students filled up pages by penning down the lyrics of the religious song, Hanuman Chalisa. Some even wrote lines of an aarti as answer to each question. Another student went a step ahead and tried to bribe the teacher by writing, “My girlfriend believes that I am good in studies. Please award me at least the pass marks or she will leave me,” as per a TOI report. This doesn’t end here.
Several students wrote how they couldn’t prepare for the mains exam because of the ‘horrid experiences’ they faced before the exams while other made personal statements. From poetry to currency notes, a wide range of measures were adopted by the students for passing the examination. Apart from writing the answers, students resorted all sorts of measures for passing the exam. Public Relations Officer of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, GS Sharma said that students thought that resorting to silly means would help them pass the examination. But this clearly wasn’t the case. He also added that the vice chancellor’s office along with a team of senior teachers was monitoring the evaluation process.
Reportedly, the results will be declared by June 15. Nearly 5.5 lakh students appeared for the final year examination in the state. Approximately 5,000 answer sheets are being assessed by teachers everyday.
