New Delhi, Nov 28: UPSC has released the CDS I Exam 2017 notification on The details of the exam can be checked on the official website. The interested candidates should go through the eligibility criteria for the exam. The admit card will be made available three weeks before the exam. The exam will be conducted at various centers across the nation including Agartala, Aizawl, Bhopal, Bareilly, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Cuttack, Dharwad, Delhi, Dispur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Jorhat, Jammu, Jaipur, Itanagar, Kohima, Kochi, Madurai, Nagpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Panaji (Goa), Port Blair, Sambalpur, Ranchi, Patna, Raipur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Udaipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam. Candidates will be tested on their understanding of English and efficient use of words.

This will include current events and matters of everyday observation, questions on History of India and Geography of a nature.
Number System: Natural numbers, Rational and Real numbers, Integers.
Fundamental operations: Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Square roots, Decimal fractions, Unitary method, Time and work, time and distance, percentages, applications to simple and compound interest, profit and loss, variation, ratio and proportion.
Elementary Number Theory: Division algorithm, Tests of divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 11, Multiples and factors, Factorisation, Prime and composite numbers, Theorem, H.C.F. and L.C.M, Euclidean algorithm, Logarithms to base 10, laws of logarithms and use of logarithmic tables.
Basic Operations, simple factors, Remainder Theorem, H.C.F., L.C.M., Theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations, relation between its roots and coefficients (Only real roots to be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns—analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear inequations in two variables and their solutions. Practical problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or inequations in two variables or quadratic equations in one variable & their solutions.
