UPSC Prelims 2018: The UPSC Prelims 2018 will be held today, that is, on June 3. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the civil services preliminary exam today which will be taken by over three lakh aspirants.   1. The UPSC civil services prelims will be held in two sessions and it will be a two-hour long paper. The first session, that is, Paper 1 or General Studies will be held between 9:30 am till 11:30 am. While Paper 2 or General Aptitude, will commence at 2:30 pm and end at 4:30 pm.
  2. It must be noted that the students must reach the examination centre by 9:20 am and 2:20 pm respectively for the concerned shifts.
  3. Students must keep a photocopy of their admit cards handy. From this year onwards, UPSC has stopped sending admit cards hence students must carry a print out of the same so as to avoid any sort of problem before the commencement of the examination.
  4. Students must carry at least two passport size photographs apart from the one placed on their admit cards.
  5. A valid ID proof , such as Aadhaar card, driving licence, voter ID card etc. must also be carried by the students.
  6. Only black and blue ball point pens are allowed at the examination centre, hence students must also carry an extra pair of of either blue or black ball point pens.
  7. Students must note that no electrical gadgets are allowed inside the examination hall. Gadgets such as mobile phones,  calculator, pager or any electronic equipment are banned inside the examination hall.
