West Bengal Madhyamik examination: On the fifth day of the Madhyamik examination, two students in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal were caught red-handed while trying to click question papers of mathematics allegedly for its circulation on WhatsApp.

The boys were identified as Mohammed Saheb and Asif Raja Ansari. Both Saheb and Ansari were students of Tithpukur High School.

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has informed that four candidates were held with mobiles — three of them in North Dinajpur and one in Jalpaiguri district. Their candidature will be cancelled, the board added.

Last week, Mobile phones were seized from five Madhyamik examinees in Malda and North 24 Parganas districts, following which the authorities suspended the Internet in some areas near schools.

Earlier, question paper of the first language (Bengali) allegedly went viral in an hour after the commencement of the Madhyamik or the class 10 examination.

During the first three days of the examination, purported images of Bengali, English and geography question papers were shared on WhatsApp shortly after the commencement of the exams, but the board had refuted the claims stating that there was no leak of the question paper.
