While working as an employee at Wipro, Shweta developed a strong desire to pursue a career in civil services. However, due to her family obligations, resigning from her job wasn’t an option. Reluctant to clear the UPSC exam, Shweta managed to strike a balance by working during the day and dedicating her nights to focused study, creating a routine that enabled her to work towards her goal of joining the civil service.

Shweta Bharti shared the challenges she encountered while maintaining her civil service preparation and personal responsibilities. During this period, she made a deliberate choice to distance herself from social circles and online platforms. Eventually, she decided that the best approach was to completely disconnect from using a smartphone.

In 2020, Shweta achieved the 65th rank in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 65th exam and was appointed as a District Programme Officer (DPO) in the Education Department, where she served in the West Champaran district. Even with this accomplishment, she remained dedicated to her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Exam and eventually cleared it with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 356. She scored 774 marks in the written examination and 168 marks in the personality test, bringing her total to 942 marks in the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021.
