Coochbehar (WB), Apr 17: Left parties have alleged attack on its party workers by Trinamool Congress in the district, where polling is on in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal today. CPI-M, in a complaint to the to the election commission authorities alleged that one of its party worker was injured when Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters attacked its workers at Shikarpur area of Mathabhanga. Forward Bloc secretary Udayan Guha alleged that three Left parties’ workers were injured and hospitalised in the attack.
He alleged that Central forces are almost absent in the district.
At Andaran Fulbari in Tufanganj under Alipurduar constituency, one Left Front polling agent was injured in TMC attack, CPI-M alleged.
AIFB sources also alleged that TMC men at Bamanhat and Kalmati in Dinhata drove away voters and opponents from queues outside polling stations.
Police,however, did not comment on the incidents when contacted.
