Rajanikanth is NOT an actor, he is a phenomenon. His epic on screen popularity stems from the fact that he is revered and loved by masses from all ages and classes, off screen too. This superstar has turned 66 today and it is quite unbelievable for us mortals to believe it, given his amazing energy and presence on screen! Rajani, lovingly known as Thalaivar (God) by his fans is coming out with a sequel to his hit Robot or Endhiran, 2.0, and we are damn excited for the same. Not only are we intrigued by its premise and fancy sci-fi effects but we are dying with anticipation to see our favourite hero entertain us with his antics again.

Now, there is a stark contrast between the superstar’s on screen persona, which is stylish and flamboyant, to his real life avatar. The Kabali star’s this phenomenon is what makes millions draw to him, like a moth to fire. Rajini is the only star who reserves his larger-than-life persona only for screen and dresses like a common man in off camera! Real, humble and talented, Rajini makes it so easy for us to not just love but revere him! While generations have grown up watching his films and his roles are immortalised in their psyche, a discussion on Rajinikanth is never complete without acknowledging his status as the ‘Style Mannan’ or King Of Style. With his characteristic walk, flick of his hair and the way he effortlessly balances a cigarette between his lips, he rocks this title with panache. All his movies including the super hit of the nineties, Baashaa to the latest Kabali: Thalaivar gives us style inspiration with his each look. He made the bell-bottoms, shades and mustache famous in the eighties and nineties, now he re-invents himself with his each movie while keeping his charactertistic look same through all these films.

In Kabali, he rocked the grey beard and made fans go weak in their knees for him. Robot/Endhiran too saw him in two different characters: Dr Vaashikaran and Chitti the robot. Both these looks were distinct from each other and memorable as hell. We greatly anticipate his 2.0 and we’re sure we will be treated to something special. After all, his Chitti will wage a war against the evil half man-half crow hybrid.

While you celebrate Thalaivar’s birthday today, take a look at all his pics from his ICONIC movies till date! This nostalgic trip will be worth taking, We assure you!
