Details Of Varun Dhawan’s Role In Sui Dhaga Revealed
Varun Dhawan - Anushka Sharma's film goes on floors in January 2018
Varun Dhawan has a line up of exciting films after Judwaa 2, and Sui Dhaga is one of them. In Sui Dhaga it will be the first time he’s paired alongside Anushka Sharma. The film will go on floors in January and was announced in an oddly fun manner in a Twitter exchange between Varun and Anushka. And, as per reports, the Student Of The Year actor’s character in the film will be nothing like what he’s played before.
A source tells DNA, “Varun plays a labourer, a hired help in the film. His look in the film will be in-sync with his character. The film hopes to raise awareness about indigenous cottage industries here in India and also talks about the dignity of labour.” An insider also revealed how Varun was spellbound by director Sharat Katariya’s passion for the story: “Sharat is so passionate about the subject, his narration impressed Varun enough to say yes to the project.”
And the project is surely in good hands since Sharat Katariya, who has earlier directed films of the likes of Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). With this role, Varun will be joining the likes of Amitabh Bachhan (Coolie), Shatrughan Sinha (Kaala Patthar), Govinda (Coolie No 1), Akshay Kumar (De Dana Dan), and Shah Rukh Khan (Koyla), all who have essayed the roles of labourers in the past. And this should come as a new challenge to Varun, who’s chiefly essayed casual youth icon roles in the past.
