Famous music composer Aadesh Shrivastava and actress Vijayta Pandit’s son Avitesh Shrivastava was booked by the Juhu police on Friday for allegedly locking up a music composer over a rent dispute. He reportedly confined Anand Tripathi in a room after arguments as the latter was not able to pay rent for the studio due to some financial crunch. According to reports, Avitesh called Anand at the studio and asked for money. The latter had nothing to give and this left the singer annoyed who abused and locked him in a room for a night. Anand pleaded but Avitesh refused to take him out after which the music composer called his friend who came at the place along with the police. A police officer told Mumbai Mirror, “An FIR under sections 342 and 504 of IPC was registered by the police on the complaint. A team of police officials rescued the complainant from a studio in Juhu, where he had been locked”. Anand revealed, “I am a music composer and had rented the studio for Rs 1 lakh per month, and paid Rs 4 lakh as deposit in 2016. But due to financial reasons, I had to leave the studio in in March. I agree some dues were pending, it but now he (Avitesh) has been asking me to pay Rs 12 lakh. He said the Rs 4lakh that I had paid as deposit has been deducted, and claimed I owed the Shrivastava family Rs 8 lakh.”
He further said that he denied that he owned Rs 8 lakh but was ready to settle down pending rent of some months.
Police are investigating the whole matter.
