The first look of Aami is out and fans are already excited about its release! Earlier, the Begum Jaan actress Vidya Balan was very much a part of this ambitious project. But later on, due to some creative differences, she opted out. Director Kamal then chose the Malayalam actress Manju Warrier for the role in biopic on renowned writer-poet Kamala Surayya! In the first look, Manju leaves a noteworthy impression with her appearance. Manju is seen immeresed in writing something, wearing a traditional saree, loose long hair and pierced nose. The look of the film was revealed by Manju Warrier. She even said that it was difficult for her to portray this role and she aspires to nail it in the end!
With the first look out, the makers are now more excited about it. The director is confident like never before that Manju Warrier will be able to play the role of Madhavikutty perfectly. Earlier, when Vidya opted from the film, the makers were slightly miffed with her. As per the reports of TOI, a source told, ” Vidya liked the script and still would like to do the film. But something was added to the final script at the last moment which she didn’t approve of. Also, she usually has extensive discussions with the writer and director of a film to get into the skin of a character. But in this case, she has not been able to be part of such discussions, which bothered her.”

Aami stars Manju Warrier, KPAC Lalitha, Anoop Menon and Prithviraj. Also, this is the third collaboration of Manju with the director, Kamal. Produced by Raphael P Thomas and Robin Rocha, the flick is slated to release later in this year!
