Actor Nivin Pauly is currently the hot debate in the Malayalam film industry after an anonymous woman accused the actor of rape charges. However, the Premam actor strongly rejected the rape accusation charged against him and five other individual. After two days Pauly sought justice by filing a complaint to the State Police Chief. He requested a thorough investigation into these allegations which he firmly believes are baseless.
After filing a police report, the 40-year-old actor stepped up to the media denying any previous encounters with the accuser. Nivin was firm about clearing his name vowing to stand against the charge not only for his sake but also for others potentially wrongfully implicated by women.
Pauly officially complained with the SPC on Thursday calling for a comprehensive probe into the charges laid against him. Interestingly, this action was taken at the same time he’s being pointed as the sixth suspect involved in the alleged attack on a female in Dubai, with producer AK Sunil also entangled in the same issue.
Pauly might deny the accusations, but the accuser is determined to prove them true. She decided to file a new complaint against Pauly after finding various protests related to last month’s Justice Hema Committee report.
Pauly, who has won two Kerala Film Awards, switched careers from software engineering to acting in 2010. His filmography includes over 50 movies, many of which turned into massive box-office hits. In 2016, he dipped his toes into production with ‘Action Hero Biju’ made under his production label Pauly Jr. Pictures, turning out to be a significant hit financially.
Turmoil struck the Malayalam movie industry following the reveal of the Justice Hema Committee report last month- a document that had been waited upon for a long time. The report shed light on the disturbingly frequent incidents of sexual exploitation endured by women in the field.
