Adipurush: Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer mythological-action-adventure Adipurush is under the lens of a political controversy. The epic-drama inspired by saint Valmiki’s Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas by sage Tulsidas is being criticised for its teaser. It all started with netizens pointing out the poor quality VFX and objectionable portrayal of Lord Ram and the demon King Ravana. From temple priests to politicians have expressed their reservations over the portrayal of ancient characters. Recently, filmmaker Om Raut also gave his honest views on the controversy over hurting religious sentiments. Now, Raj Thackeray led MNS has supported Adipurush team and said it’s unfortunate that a 95 second teaser has resulted in unnecessary speculations.

ADIPURUSH TERAM GETS SUPPORT FROM MNS

Amey Khopkar, President of Maharashtra Navnirman Film Sena, recently tweeted, “1)Director Om Raut has previously created films like Lokmanya and Tanhaji which showed the depth of the research that he had done on the historic details. He has also designed and executed a glorious light and sound show at the Veer Savarkar Smarak which still continues to play.” In another tweet he wrote that it was unfortunate that Om Raut was being trolled over the teaser. Khopkar stated that he had faith in the director and his sincere efforts would be appreciated post Adipurush‘s release.

Adipurush also stars Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, while Prabhas and Kriti portray Raghava and Janaki respectively. The film is slated for a January 12, 2023 release.
