Vicky Kaushal’s The Immortal Ashwatthama: Actor Vicky Kaushal and director Aditya Dhar are teaming up for a new film titled The Immortal Ashwatthama. In his latest interview with a daily, Aditya, who rose to fame with his debut directorial Uri: The Surgical Strike, revealed that he is making his new film on a grand budget to give India its own universe like Marvel. The director turned 37 on Thursday and in his birthday special interview with Mid-Day, he gave away more details about The Immortal Ashwatthama than we already know. Aditya mentioned that he is trying to make the film as a trilogy but a lot depends on how the first film shapes up. The director said his team is currently concentrating on the first part so that it can channelise the way for the other two films in the pipeline. He revealed why the mythological character of Ashwatthama attracted him so much that he decided to make a trilogy on him. Aditya said this was one character from Mahabharat who was flawed like humans – was arrogant, egoistic and temperamental. While talking about the scale of the film, the director said no compromises are going to be made. “We don’t want to compromise on the scale. We want to make a superhero film and hopefully, achieve what Marvel is doing globally,” Aditya said. Vicky, who plays the titular character in the film, needs to bulk up for his role. As revealed by the director, he needs to weigh around 115 kilos for his part. The Bhoot actor will also be training in martial arts, sword fighting and archery to perfect his role.
