Ranveer Singh is clearly in his winning phase. His latest release, Dhurandhar, has turned out to be one of the biggest box-office surprises of the year, roaring past expectations despite limited promotions. Within just 10 days of release, the film is reportedly on track to breach the ₹400-crore mark, firmly cementing Ranveer’s position as one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars today.
Even as Dhurandhar continues its dream run in theatres, the actor is already gearing up for what could be one of the most ambitious projects of his career. Ranveer is set to headline Pralay, a zombie thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world—an almost unexplored genre in mainstream Hindi cinema.
According to reports, Pralay is envisioned as a gritty survival drama that uses the zombie genre as a metaphor to explore social breakdown, emotional decay and moral collapse. Rather than being a conventional horror film, the story focuses on a lone protagonist battling both external threats and inner demons in a devastated world.
The film will be directed by Jai Mehta, son of acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta. Jai previously co-directed the hugely successful series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Scam 2003, earning praise for his sharp storytelling. Pralay will mark his feature film debut.
As per industry buzz, Pralay is expected to go on floors between July and August 2026. However, Ranveer will first complete shooting for Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar. Once that commitment wraps up, the actor will shift focus entirely to Pralay. The final shooting schedule is likely to be locked by January 2026.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Pralay is its visual scale. The makers reportedly plan to recreate Mumbai as a decaying, abandoned city, drawing visual inspiration from franchises like The Hunger Games. Large physical sets will be combined with AI-generated extensions to digitally age parts of the city, giving it a haunting, dystopian look. Portions of the film will be shot in Mumbai, followed by schedules at other locations.
Apart from Don 3 and Pralay, Ranveer also has Dhurandhar 2: Revenge lined up for release on March 19, 2026. The sequel is expected to clash at the box office with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, setting the stage for a major cinematic showdown.
With Dhurandhar rewriting box-office records and Pralay promising a bold new cinematic space, Ranveer Singh’s upcoming slate signals that the actor is far from slowing down.
