After having received much appreciation for writing Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, writers Siddharth and Garima are now up to something new. Their next film will be based on another social topic, and this time around it will be surrogacy. The film is titled Jasmine, and is set to go on floors by March – April this year. The film will be shot in Gujarat and Rajasthan and will see the directorial debut of the writing duo. Now the thing that is to be finalised is who will play the lead actress in the film, and producer Prernaa Arora is eyeing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for it. When Mumbai Mirror asked Prernaa why Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh won’t be directing the film, she said that he is busy working on Shahid Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu. “That’s why we are launching two new directors. We will still have him as editor and co-producer,” she added. Talking about the casting, she admitted Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be welcomed foremost. “We would love to have her but it will depend on her dates,” she said. The film Aishwarya is currently working on is also of Prernaa’s production. The film titled Fanne Khan will be a musical, where Ash will be seen playing a diva. She is also said to be starring in the remake of Raat Aur Din, a role for which Nargis bagged the National Award. Talking about the surrogacy drama Shree Narayan Singh revealed that this project is something that writers Siddarth and Garima have been pondering over for three years. Looking for financial backing, and researching about it meanwhile. “It is inspired by a real life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn’t want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point she gets attached to the child and wants the child back,” he informs tabloid.
