Airlift box office report: Akshay Kumar starrer becomes first 100 crore film in 2016?

Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift has hit the bull’s eye it seems. Despite of getting mixed reviews, it has managed to impress viewers. Airlift has collected Rs. 72.50 crore within five days of its release. Considering the speeding box office records, it looks like Airlift will soon enter the Rs. 100 crore club. Well, if that happens, this Akshay Kumar starrer will become the first film of 2016 to have minted as much as Rs. 100 crore at the box office.


The first day collections sumed up to Rs. 12.35 crore. However, over the weekend, the box office collections witnessed a decent jump. The movie earned Rs. 14.60 cr on the second day. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Akshay Kumar plays Ranjit Katyal, a celebrity business tycoon of sorts in the film.The story of Airlift is based on the largest human evacuation carried out ever (during the 1990 Iraq-Kuwait war).
