Akshay Kumar is all set to impress us yet again with his forthcoming movie Airlift, co-starring Nimrat Kaur. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is based on true incident where the world’s biggest civil evacuation- evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war took place. Naturally, the music of this one is designed to invoke the patriot in you. Also there are couple of situational romantic numbers placed finely in this album. Penned by Kumar the music of this album is composed by Amaal Mallik and Ankit Tiwari. Here’s our take on the music. Mera Nachan Nu: Sung by Divya Kumar, Amaal Mallik and Brijesh Shandilya, Mera Nachan Nu is an out-and-out peppy number revolving around a grand ceremonial celebrations (perhaps a wedding). Tu Bhula Jise: KK and Amal Malik stretch their vocal chords to sensational effects for this one. It is a moving number with powerful lyrics that signifies how the country that was conveniently forgotten in the minds of its own sons is now coming to their rescue. Packed with patriotism this song will give you goosebumps in a jiffy. The placement of Vande Mataram chant in the end only accentuates the feel and the heart of this number!
Soch Na Sake: Look at the fabulous trio you have crooning for this one–Amaal Mallik, Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The three accomplished singer take the number to another level. This sad romantic number has a beautiful composition. Exclusively sung by Arijit Singh in its solo form Soch Na Sake stays with you for a very long time. Easily a classic number that you would like to visit quite frequently.
Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi: A fantastic blend or Western music infused with the quintessential Arabic flavour Dil Chhez Tujhe Dedi is beautifully composed and sung by Ankit Tiwari. Arjit Singh’s unmistakable vocals only enhance the lyrical quality of this number. The tune is catchy you can’t stop humming this one after giving it a good listen!
Our verdict: Airlift presents an interesting musical treat with powerfully moving renditions and some really beautiful compositions. While Arjit Singh dominates in almost all the songs with his mellifluous voice, it is the soulful quality of the most numbers that keeps you hooked.
