Woh Kaun Thi, the 1964 classic, starring Sadhana, Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra in the lead, is perhaps one of the best psychological mystery movies of all times. Helmed by Raj Khosla and written by Dhruva Chatterjee, the movie will always remain a memorable one for its crisp narrative and amazing performances by its actors. Well, it now seems that the makers of the super hit film, Toilet : Ek Prem Katha and Padman are all set to make the remake of the yester year’s film. Not just that they are also contemplating to cast two of the best and a never seen before pair as the lead actors of the film. Any guesses? Well, we’re talking about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shahid Kapoor.
Rumours are rife that the makers have approached Shahid to play Manoj Kumar’s role, while Aishwarya is being considered for Sadhana’s on screen character. A source in the know of the development told Pinkvilla, “The psychological thriller starring Sadhana and Manoj Kumar is celebrated to this day for its remarkable songs composed by Madan Mohan. The film will pay tribute to both Manoj Kumar and Sadhana and who better than the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to step into the ethereal Sadhana’s shoes. Sadhana’s screen presence combined with her captivating face was a huge crowd puller for the film. The makers are extremely keen to have Aishwarya who is considered the epitome of beauty to essay the role. She fit the bill perfectly as not only does she has undeniable screen presence and expressive eyes but is also immensely talented.”
While Aishwarya and Shahid have never shared screen space with each other, Shahid was a background dancer for Aishwarya’s iconic song Kahin Aag Lage in Subhash Ghai’s Taal. Shahid was the young boy who draped Aishwarya’s face in the song. We all know that Shahid was a part of Shiamak Davar’s troop back in the day and was also one of his most favourite students. Anyway, it would indeed be a matter of great delight to see them share screen space for the very first time, if the rumours do turn out to be true. Don’t you think?
