Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Reveals She Was Always Sanjay Dutt's First Choice To Reprise Nargis Dutt's Role In Raat Aur Din Remake

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one rare actress whose marital status or becoming a mother hasn’t put a dent on her fan following. The diva is still a head turner at events and Bollywood parties and remains to be the most coveted star. After she wooed and wowed audience with her powerful and moving performance in Sarabjit and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the actress’ fan are waiting to see her take on the big screen once again. Ash will be seen in Fanne Khan, this year’s Eid release and two more films, if all goes well.

While there have been ample speculations about her next film(s) after Fanne Khan, Ash has confirmed in her interview with fashion magazine Vogue that she is in talks for the remake of Raat Aur Din (1967) and Woh Kaun Thi? (1964). Talking about her next films, Ash revealed, “I’ve been approached for the remake of Raat Aur Din, which is a great opportunity, and what’s funny is while filming Shabd (2005), Sanju Sir (Sanjay Dutt) said he’d have loved for me to play the part, and I was very touched. The KriArj helmer had said that it was after working with the actress in Fanne Khan that she deemed her right for the role. Now, we know that Ash was always meant to play Sanjay’s mother Nargis Dutt’s character in the remake of the yesteryear thriller drama.

And this is not the only film Aishwarya will be seen in. Talking about another project that she might sign on, the Bachchan bahu shared, “I’ve also been approached for a remake of Woh Kaun Thi?”. The original film, a psychological mystery film, starred Sadhana, Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra.
