Aishwarya Rai is no stranger to turning down blockbuster scripts that later became box office hits. One of them was Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year. Helmed by Farah Khan, the film also featured Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, and Vivaan Shah. Interestingly, Aishwarya Rai was also approached for the role. The actress refused it because she didn’t want to be cast alongside Abhishek Bachchan.
While speaking to NDTV, Aishwarya Rai stated, “Yes, I was offered the film, and it did seem like quite a fun trip. I knew we would have a blast doing it, and it was going to be a fun experience.” The beauty queen further added “We wouldn’t be cast opposite each other. It would be really, really weird, right? That’s why I had to decline it.”

As soon as the video of Aishwarya Rai’s interview went viral on social media, one of the user commented, “Simple reason she sacrificed her career for Abhishek.. sadly he ended up playing supporting roles.”, another user wrote, “Only women can go that far for their men. Currently, the rumours of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s divorce is doing rounds on the internet. According to reports, Abhishek cheated on his wife with his Dasvi co-star Nimrit Kaur.
For the first time, Nimrat has broken her silence and clarified the rumours about her and Abhishek’s alleged relationship. According to The Times of India, the actress stated, “I could have done anything, and people would still say what they want. It is not possible to stop such gossip, and I prefer to focus on my work.” Well, nothing has been verified yet, but fans are critiscing Abhishek for supposedly being disloyal to his wife.
